Joshua Houchin is a professional musician of over ten years. He has performed in 25 U.S. states, Canada and Mexico. He is currently “living the dream,” playing music full-time. He resides in the charming state-streets neighborhood in Urbana, IL with his lovely wife, Meredith Blumthal. He recently decided to go back to school and is pursuing a Masters Degree in Jazz Performance, studying with the world-class jazz faculty at the University of Illinois.

Josh plays in many groups including the Briggs Houchin Jazz Duo, specializing in straight-ahead instrumental jazz, the Prairie Dogs, specializing in bluegrass and country-western, Little Oy On the Prairie, specializing in klezmer music, and Maria & Co., specializing in Eastern European folk music and tangoes.
